An alien race known as, "The Watchers" have enslaved humanity after a long war. They have created puppet states and corporations all across the world and you work for one of the puppet corporations. No longer wanting to be a slave of the Watchers you are risking your life and the fate of humanity by helping the human freedom fighters to free yourself and save humanity in the process. Backstory:

The Watchers came when I was still a boy. Their invasion started slowly. At first it was nothing more than sightings and the occasional social media post from the conspiracy theorist. Then the attacks began in remote parts of the world. It was like they were probing us for weaknesses before they made themselves known. When the globe finally became aware that we were under attack, we fought back with everything we had. The world had never cooperated this closely before. The stories our victories over the Watchers in Sahara and Siberia were so inspiring as an adolescent, heck, it made me want to join the army. I still remember the president's words at the United Nations, "We will put up a good fight". Then everything changed. There was setback after setback. Loss after loss. In just a few years our enemy had gained the upper hand. I lost so many loved ones. The had finally found humanities greatest weakness. Greed. Using some sort of mind fuckery they would drive some of the most powerful men in the world to their cause. Next thing I know the UN was disbanded, and the Good Fight was declared lost. The governments were replaced with mega corporations, one of which I work for. I work here because I have to, it is the only way to survive now. You either work or be enslaved in one of the watchers work or reeducation camps. I can’t live like this any longer. The Good Fight isn’t over yet. In the deep parts of the world humanity is still free. I have contacts with them. They say that if I give them enough intel on the watchers then they can destroy this building and set us all free. It is risky, but I know that I will be a pawn of the Watchers no longer….
